Happy birthday -- FREE ice cream

Earlier this week I told you about the free Italian Ice at Rita's on March 20 (more details here).

Well, if you liked that, you should also mark your calendar for March 23. That's the day Ben and Jerry's will be giving away free ice cream cones from noon to 8 p.m. (get more details here). The ice cream shop does it every year to mark the anniversary of the opening of their first restaurant in Vermont more than 30 years ago.

Find a store near you, and find out if they are participating in the give away (and get more details), here.

FREE music -- thanks NPR and iTunes!

Go here to download your free 11-song sampler of artists that will be featured in this month's South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX.

Artists featured include Broken Bells, Sharon Jones, Spoon and eight others.

Like what you hear?? Go to NPR's All Songs Considered blog here and sign up for the Second Stage podcast. Then each song posted to the blog will automatically be downloaded to your computer.

I love getting free music, especially samplers like this. It's a great way to try out new styles and artists before buying an entire album. And if you don't like something you downloaded for free, there's nothing lost in deleting it later.

FREE coffee

Get your free sample of Folgers Coffee Singles here.

You have to sign up, and agree to answer a few survey questions, but then your sample should arrive in the mail in about a month.

Facebook strikes yet again!

This time it's $1 off Rayovac batteries.

This weekend is the beginning of Daylight Savings time, a time when many experts recommend you also change the batteries in the smoke detectors in your house.

Rayovac is offering this coupon to help make it easier to help with that.

Go here to sign up to become a fan and print off your coupon. Remember to be sure your printer is on and filled with paper and ink!

Facebook strikes again

Wow. What a morning for Facebook fans.

Friendly's is offering a $2 off $10 breakfast coupon for fans on Facebook.

I've been a fan of Friendly's for a while now -- even before you could do it on Facebook. It's a bit of nostalgia for me, since it was where my first love and I used to meet back when we were teens. We lost track of one another decades ago, and Friendly's was never the same for me. That is, until we found one another here on Facebook, and got engaged! Now all seven of our kids are fans of Facebook too.

Go here to become a fan of Friendly's and get your coupon.

Another Facebook FREEBIE!

If you didn't already know, I am a huge fan of Facebook. It is, after all, what reconnected me with my first and last love.

I really love it when I find a freebie offered to Facebook fans.

Redbox is currently offering a one-night free rental code (valid only on March 17) to fans on Facebook. The code is unique, so you can't share it. Go here to become a fan, and then click on the tab titled "Fan Freebie."

I'm thinking I may use mine for a date night for my fiance and I.
