More free cookies (original post 2/15) -- An update

Back on the 15th I told you about Nabisco's plan to give FB fans a special offer on the first of each month. At the time I didn't know what kind of cookies we'd be getting. But I have since confirmed that March offer will be for a free package of Chips Ahoy when you buy two gallons of milk.

But first you have to be a fan of Nabisco on Facebook (become a fan here). Sign up so you are ready for Monday!

FREE all-purpose cleaner and cleaning shams

Those who know me and my family know that anything that's green and has a monkey on it will be an immediate hit. And if it's any good at cleaning up the messes that the family is so good at making, even better!

So I can't wait to get my free sample of The Mystical Monkey all purpose cleaner!

You can sign up for yours here.

The company also provides a link to a FREE offer for 8 Sham Wow cleaning cloths. Try signing up for yours here. I gave it a try, and entered my email address, but I can't tell if it worked. Let me know if it works for you.

$33 in coupons from "the French anti-aging skin care experts"

The folks at Roc is offering three coupons worth a total of $33 for their skin care products.

FREE bottle of Excedrin

Go here to answer a quick one-question survey about what kinds of pain relief medicines you have used in the last year. If you answer anything but Excedrin you should qualify for a coupon for a free bottle! Coupons will be sent in the mail, so expect to see it in six to eight weeks.

Outlet shopping club -- better than FREE

Do you live in (or plan to visit) one of the 22 states with a Tanger Outlet mall (find locations here)?

If so, you can join their shopping club for half price ($5 instead of $10) by going to their cub page here and entering the discount code 1734310M.

Membership gets you:
* A free tote bag. I got mine today, and it's quite nice, roomy and sturdy!
* A coupon book with $1,200 worth of coupons. Not that anyone is going to shop in every store, but it's likely you'll find a coupon or two you will use.
* Seasonal member specials and gift cards.
* Exclusive web offers.
* A $10 gift card for your birthday.

The way I do the math, I'm already in the black on this one. I used one of the coupons (saved $3), will get my birthday perk in time for Christmas ($10) and got a free tote (gotta be worth at least $10). That makes a grand total savings so far of $23 -- $18 more than the $5 I spent on the club membership.

FREE Burger and Fries

Denny's is offering a coupon for a free burger and fries to the first 500,000 people to join their Denny's Rewards program.

Go here to sign up.

The sign up page does not tell you if you are within the first 500,000 to register, so I guess you'll have to wait and check your email Feb. 28 to see if you receive the coupon in your email inbox.

I'm hoping I will.

FREE Saveur Magazine

I have to thank Lori at momsbyheart.net for this fabulous freebie. It's so good that I think it will go quickly, so good luck.

Go here to sign up for a free 12-month subscription to Saveur magazine. This is one of my favorite cooking magazines, with both fabulous articles and great photos.

And 20 percent off entire purchase (a $14.99 value)

$1 coupon -- thanks again Facebook!

I do just love it when I can justify my time on Facebook by finding good coupons on products for the family. Fans of Oreo (become one here) can print off a coupon for $1 off any flavor of Oreo Cakesters. I was able to print the coupon twice by hitting the "back" button once the first was done.

Even better, my Food Lion is currently selling these for 2-for$5, which means if I use both coupons, I can get them for $1.50 a package!

Oh, and don't forget -- Oreo is promising a good deal to fans on March 1, so now is the time to become a fan!

FREE pancake breakfast (or lunch, or dinner)

When I told you about this one back on Feb. 15, I promised I would come back and remind you when the time came.

Well, it's here. Tomorrow is the day IHOP will celebrate National Pancake Day (do they make cards for that?) by giving away a FREE short stack (three) of buttermilk pancakes to customers between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

IHOP asks that in return customers consider making a donation to children's hospitals through the Children's Miracle Network.

You can find more information here.

And you can find a restaurant close to you here.

P.S. -- Don't forget to tip your server as though your bill was full price. IHOP is generously doing this fund raiser for children, but the servers are still working and deserve to be paid.

FREE for the asking!

Mama Cheaps (no relation -- lol) has a fabulous list of more than 100 manufacturers who will send you coupons if you just ask. The list is broken down into organic/natural food companies, other grocery manufacturers and companies that respond to feedback from their web site.

You can check out the list (and bookmark it so you can come back to it on a rainy day) here.

Thanks again!

More FREE music!!

Cheap Cheap fan Teresa told me about this one. And fans should know my feelings about free music -- I think it's a great way to try some new stuff and if I don't like it, it's no biggie since you can just hit the delete button.

Every Monday Urban Outfitters offers five free downloadable songs here.

They also periodically offer free sampler albums, and currently there are two available for free download on their web site here.

That's 45 songs you could add to your collection today, which have a value of about $25!

Thanks again Teresa!

More than $100 in Target coupons

When my fiance and I put our family of nine together, we both moved to what's kindly called "Lower-Slower Delaware." And I must say, there are lots of things to like about living in a town with a population of just 259 (er, make that 268 now, eh?) there are one or two things I miss.

I must admit, one of those is my Target. In fact, I miss it so much that when I travel, I often schedule to hit the Target in the place we are visiting.

I hope I can do that before the $115 in store coupons Target just released (available here) expires. These are good, high value coupons, most worth $1 or more, for grocery products I use every day: including crackers, snacks, cheese, pizza and other items. You should be able to stack these store coupons with manufacturers coupons, but if you have any problems, you can refer to the store's coupon policy, posted online here.

I wanted to be sure to share these in case you had a Target closer to where you live. You can find your closest store here.

FREE movie night

It's Saturday, which means movie night around here, when the nine of us pile up in front of the TV and watch a movie together.

Tonight I plan to do it for free with the coupon code I came across for Blockbuster Express, thanks to Coupon Geek.

BBXDVD1 (expires Feb. 28)

Remember: the code only gets you one free night (value $1). If you keep it longer you will be charged for the extra nights.

Find you closest Blockbuster Express kiosk here.

Nearly $3 in Pepperidge Farm coupons!

I love Pepperidge Farm products! But I often pass them by because I can buy other products for less money. Which is why I had to share these coupons for a total of $2.85 off Goldfish crackers, bread, puff pastry and Tam Tam cookies.

Go here to sign up and print out your coupons. I was able to print each coupon twice.

Still, I'm going to have to hide the cinnamon raisin bread so that mom and dad can get some toast in the morning. Because otherwise, it'll all be gone long before we get up for breakfast.

FREE Glade Plugins gift pack

I want to thank Keri Lyn over at She Saved for this one...

Glade is giving away a free fragrance gift pack -- one of it's Plugins air freshener and refill -- to the first 10,000 eligible people who register here (regular price about $10). But you need to act quick to get yours, although you won't find out if you did or not until it arrives (or doesn't). Glade says they plan to ship the gift packs on May 15.

$5 coupon + $10 rebate = $15 savings on Aveeno

Aveeno is offer a $5 coupon and a $10 rebate on it's new Ageless Vitality Elasticity Recharging System line.

The patented, 2-step system is said to restore your youthful look by improving the elasticity of your skin. "In just four weeks, 100 percent of women showed improved skin vitality with firmer, smoother skin texture, fewer lines or wrinkles or diminished age spots," it says on their web site.

For your coupon and rebate form, go here. You can choose from Aveeno's three Ageless Vitality products (regular price $35 to $40): Daily SPF 30, Night and Eye.

FREE hot coffee at Borders bookstore!

Looks like this weekend is a good one for free stuff if you are out and about.

First there's the free pretzels at Auntie Anne's (see details here).

Now there's free coffee at Border's book stores. You do have to bring in the coupon (available here) and be a Borders rewards member. But membership is free, and you can do it quickly online here.

The coupon is valid through Feb. 21.

Membership to Borders brings with it other perks as well, including in-store and online members-only specials.

More than $50 in coupons!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but now that the snow is starting to melt here on the East Coast, I'm ready to think about spring -- and spring cleaning.

Go here to get your $42.25 worth of coupons on Finish, Lysol, Air Wick, Woolite, Resolve, Easy Off and other products. You have to sign up, but as soon as you do you not only qualify for these coupons, but another $8 in coupons for food and personal care items.

70 percent off dinner out!

Restaurant.com is back with a 70 percent off deal on its restaurant gift certificates. For $3 you can buy a gift certificate for $25 to restaurants all across the country. Go here to see what's available in your area (or any place else -- these make great gifts to send to friends).

Use the code ENJOY and you'll get a $25 gift certificate for $3, a $50 gift certificate for $6 or a $100 gift certificate for $12.

I found some of my favorite restaurants on my local list, which included Italian, Mexican, Indian, American sushi, and seafood places. But be sure to read the fine print, as the restrictions vary from restaurant to restaurant. Most require you to spend more than the amount on the gift certificate (I bought a $25 gift certificate, and the restaurant required a minimum purchase of $35), and most do not count the purchase of alcohol toward that total. But I think the two of us can manage that!

FREE pretzel

Tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the day for free pretzels at Auntie Anne's!

Choose from original or cinnamon sugar (limit one per person).

Go here to find the store closest to you.

Stock up on baby products

Here are eight high-value coupons for baby wash, shampoo and other products.

First up, go here for $3 off two 8 ounce bottles of Aveeno Baby Essential Moisture shampoo (expires March 20).

Then go here for $8 worth of coupons from Johnson's and Johnson's for seven baby products, including body wash, baby oil and Desitin creams.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

FREE sample for the man in your life

So often the deals I list here are for the family, or on the rare occasion something I splurge on for me. Finally here's one for the guys.

Go here to sign up for your free sample of Axe shower gel for men. It's offered through Sam's Club, but you don't have to be a member or enter a member number to get the deal.

The company says samples will be sent within eight weeks.

FREE toothpaste sample

The folks at Burt's Bees are offering free .5 ounce sample tubes of their Natural Multicare Toothpaste (usual price for a 4 oz tube: $5). Go to their web site here to sign up for yours.

The company says samples will be sent within eight weeks.

What's better than ONE FREE photo book?

How about 12 FREE photo books?

At $6 each (including shipping -- which is also free), that's $72 worth of books to chronicle your year.

Now, I do have to tell you that the way Hot Prints is able to do this is your book will come with an advertisement from one of their "partners" in it. But they promise the ad will not be on your photos, but instead is a full page insert, which is easily removable.

Go here to sign up and create your first book.

$1 off seafood

I eat a lot of seafood. But rarely find coupons for it, so when I found this one, I had to share! Go here for your $1 off Crab Classic or Lobster Classic (you can use it on any size or any style). To print it twice, just hit the back button.

Expiration date: April 30.

I regularly see the 8-ounce package of this product (usual price about $4) on sale for Buy-1-Get-1-Free. Use your two coupons, and that brings the price down to $1 per package.

Not sure what to do with it? Here are a few of my favorites:

Simple Crab or Lobster Scampi
1 pound (2 8 oz. packages) crab/lobster
2 T butter
1 tsp. chopped garlic
salt/pepper to taste
Rice or pasta (for serving)
Melt butter over medium heat in a saute pan. Add garlic and cook until golden, about 5 minutes (be careful not to burn). Add crab/lobster and toss to coat, cooking lightly until the outside of the crabmeat is golden, about 5 minutes.
Serve over rice or pasta

Brett's Crab Dip
2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. minced ginger (I like the "fresh" in a jar that you can buy in your produce section)
1/2 tsp. dry cilantro
3 T soy sauce
1 pound (2 8 oz. packages) crab meat
Put everything in a food processor and pulse until combined.

Crab Imperial
1 lb. (2 8 oz. packages) crab meat
2 T mayonnaise
1 egg
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
6 crackers, crushed
Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix everything together and place in a baking dish. Bake until cooked through, about 10 minutes.

FREE pizza

In my book, pizza is the most perfect food.

It's even more perfect (is that possible) when it's free.

Go here to see if you qualify for a coupon for a free package of DiGiorno's new 200 calorie pizzas (maximum value $3.30). I've seen others say they weren't able to get one, but it worked for me. The site says the coupon will be sent via mail and will arrive in six to eight weeks.

FREE pen

Uni-Ball is giving away 10,000 free "Super Ink Technology" pens a day. Sign up to get yours (regular price about $9) here.

Uni-Ball claims it's "Super Ink" forms an "unbreakable bond" with paper fibers, which helps prevent check fraud.

I don't know if that's true or not. But I do know I can never find a pen around here when I need one. So having another one around, in particular one I got for free, can't be a bad thing.
