I admit it. I used to forget about gifts for the kids to take to birthday parties until the very last minute.

And it's hard to be cheap on deadline.

Recently I've been keeping an eye on the circulars -- Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Walgreens -- looking for sales on popular toys in different age groups.

Add to the in-store deals a $2 to $10 coupon like the ones available here from Hasbro (which includes Playskool), and you can save big time on toys.

For example, Toys R Us currently has some popular Hasbro games, including Name of Things and Guesstures, on sale for $16.99 (marked down from $19.99). Add to that a $5 coupon, and your end cost is $11.99.
